Portfolio

I enjoy depicting the mundanity and often unpleasant reality of day to day life. The clutter, the dusty side tables and the smudged windows. The things one might choose to leave out of a photo being posted on social media. The things that we all deal with every day, but would be embarrassed to admit to publicly. I think there's a humor and odd beauty in facing that sort of honest, gritty reality; choosing to acknowledge it for all of its flaws; and depicting it meticulously in an illustration. The content might make you mildly uncomfortable, but you can relate to it in one way or another, can't you?  I think the true messiness of real life is one of the few things that most people have in common.

I'd describe the aesthetic of my work as a marriage between the textured, unpredictable, imperfect nature of traditional artwork and the precise, efficient, adjustable nature of digital artwork.
